Navratri 7th Day
Navratri 7th Day honours 7th form of Goddess Durga, Kalratri Ma. I always resonate with Ma Kalratri.
And we also come into the sattvic flow of Ma Saraswati, She is the Goddess of wisdom, creation, and intelligence. This final phase, these last 3 nights of Navaratri are an auspicious time for transformation, manifesting prosperity, creating shifts toward more balance (sattva).
Ma Kalratri is as black as a dark night. She has four hands, she is meant to make the devotees fearless. She is the dark night of the soul
The dark night of the soul is shattering – you question ‘ who am I?” “what s happening” saying and feeling like “I am loosing it”. I have been there, and then I also choose to go inwards to meet myself in the dark. So I know when you have been through the dark night, the wisdom and transformation changes you, for the better. and from this place is where I hel other women.
That is why I can say, with pure devotion, I love this day. Kalratri ma reminds us that to come into the supreme flow we need to bring the darkness (Kali/Durga) to light (Lakshmi) to come into the flow of Saraswati …
Even though the seas may be stormy as the battle goes on and on and the demons seem to never be dying (metaphorically in the story or your life) the sublime beauty heals all senses and brings a rejuvenating quality. The key is to embrace everything, not judge it as you are feeding the demonic qualities and you/they battle more.
Ma Saraswati is the aspect of Shakti that opens all the chakras through mantra. Her abode is the 5th chakra Vissudha and this is between the head and the heart and mantra transcends the mind to bring us into the heart. Mantra is the key to purify (meaning of vissudha) and clear all the chakras and the ascent of shakti as a flowing river.
Saraswati known for sacred speech in Vac and knowledge and so she connects the tongue to the heart and speaks with such eloquence. The body becomes the instrument opening to the subtlities of this energy. Her flow of love, wisdom awakens the truth and truth prevails!
Kalratri is also the most intense form of Durga in Kali so if any regressive or stubborm energy within she encourages you to let it go now to come into the sublime flow. Kali is fierce yet deeply loving.
She is admired with name “Kalratri” because she represents herself as a death of “Kaal” appeared like a dark night for demons. She is also addressed with the name ‘Kali Maa’. Her huge red eyes, open red tongue and a sword in the hand fiercely demolish devils and devils.
Kali appears out of Durga’s third eye at the key moment in the Devi Mahatmya, when Durga is being threatened…Durga and Kali are warrior goddess who destroy in order of the highest good… Kali is brought forth to help confronts Raktabija, another demon – Raktabija means seed of blood, his magical Powers is when a seed of his blood drops, the drops turn into more warriors. In the throws of the battle Kali confronts Raktabija cuts of his head of disillusion and with her long tongue licks up all the blood before we can touch the ground.
Raktabija blood symbolizes the uncontrollable desire is to agitate our minds and Kali’s tongue is the power of the yoga practice to eat up these desires and thoughts so that the luminosity of our essential awareness reveals itself.
Kali’s power is her love of truth. She is dressed in a garland of skulls – all egos which she has slaughtered in her battles for truth. her wild fierce passion for truth will destroy all that isnt truth.
Kaalratri is the spirit in each of us that that yearns for truth, that her insatiable thirst gives her the power to conquer the unconquerable. So truth prevails!
She is whispering or shouting in your ear – can you face the dark? do you have the faith? come surrender, I’ll show you.
And this is the last days of Navaratri and the essence of s u r r e n d e r and trust in the divine plan.
