Tiger Paws

Tiger pawsI taught classes last week with the theme  “fierce but flexible”.I had returned from my womens retreat on Durga, the Divine Feminine Goddess, who rides a tiger or lion and is fierce in her love of truth. so my love for the mythology I used these to teach.

The alignment was fierce, yet with loving intention, especially on the hands, your tiger paws. where ever the hands were on the floor like downward facing dog, chataranga dandasana, cobra or up dog, handstand, the hands had to be rooted as the picture below shows.

why?

because it protects you, builds strength, gives you the tenacity of a tiger so you don’t injure yourself! Tiger paws are so sensitive and this si encouraging you to make your tiger paws the same, sensitive to align to the highest!

Tiger Paws

These alignment principles of your tiger paws protect you from injuries and I’ve got a few students with wrist or shoulder problems and so I am hot on alignment. By using the dark green spots and digging your finger tips deep into the earth like your digging deep int to he soul of your being, you create a solid foundation and with the red spot not lifted you are not collapsing into the wrist. the four corners of the hand are rooted along with finger tips, so that the centre of the palm lifts up and still has space. I like to start a practice planting a seed intention in between this space in palms of the hands (your tiger paws in prayer). then every time your hands are to the earth you are rooting into this intention giving it space to grow so you roar with victory like a tiger!

I received so many emails and texts saying thank you – your alignment has totally helped me – so here it is… hope it helps you too!
