Victory Day

devi mahatmyam

Navrarti is a festival of victory and purification, victory of our limiting, contracted forms that are purified through the practices of sadhana (spiritual journey). Each of the goddesses invite you into a different frequency of you to explore and dive deeper into yourself as a woman – have you?

Victory of coming into the Feminine, letting go of the grip, the competition with our masculine side or the masculine or even other women. My goal is to let go of the outdated ways of being, doing so much that is linear and masculine and come into my inherent feminine nature and feel, receive and come from my Shakti, my power. From here paradoxically I  see that the masculine is within the feminine the whole time!  Just like the male enters the female, the lingham enters the yoni. There’s a Oneness all the time, the love-making of ShivaShakti. Shakti undresses you, invites you to the be vulnerable, then you receive, lessons, blessings that may come from the masculine presence within you or your life and then there, right there is the connection the intimate union of yoga, of ShivaShakti and that is victory.

The battle is the battle within…and this may be with your old paradigm ways of being that are linear and masculine.  In the Devi Mahatmya, that describes the battles of the Goddess, the great message is the force of love and Dharma… Love conquers fear. The great Have no Fear Abhaya Mudra is fertiltity for rebirth…to receive, to come into your feminine nature and thrive..

:: Have these offerings in the last 9 days encouraged you deeper?

:: do you feel you have become the instrument of receptivity, can you let love enter you?

I truly hope you have taken off some of those tight, restricting out dated clothes I talk of as the old ways of being – are you wearing anything new metaphorically speaking?

Victory Day ~

Today is know as Victory Day or Vijaya Dashami, and marks the triumphant ovation of the soul at having attained liberation from the cycle of birth and rebirth through the descent of knowledge by the grace of Goddess Saraswati..

Yes we can continue having the Lion breathing down our neck, panting heavily or we might be on the hamster wheel of life, go round and round in circles not knowing how to get off or we choose to pause, observe and say “Dear Drama, I am breaking up with you!” –

Dear drama i'm breaking up with you

The victory is this is just the beginning of the unfurling, the blossoming of you as a woman and I am so honoured to be on this journey with you…. The victory for a woman is to receive pleasure, and that releases the feel good hormones like oxytocin. when you are stressed and cortisol is released, it inhibits oxytocin and there’s an imbalance in the hormones and for woman that causes seperation. and if there’s already a separation because she’s more in her masculine nature do you see….

Would you like victories everyday?

YES!!!!! then I invite you to feel pleasure everyday, feel the pleasure of the breath, movement, touch, water on your skin in bath or shower, the taste of food, plan a lunch date, plan a retreat, week away, day away as every time you look forward to a date in the diary it reduces cortisol, produces oxytocin and oxytocin is all about nurturing, being nurtured, sharing and togetherness. Pleasure is a  powerful shakti key for a women and victories will come like amny many of juicy feelings or more

My experience

Personally right now I have been experiencing a challenging time, yet I have turned to my powerful teachers and my altar and my self for inner reflection and guidance. I will be writting about this very soon, yet today I feel the victory, of being present and taking 108% responsbility for my life. I am making changes and blossoming like the lotus, one of the weapons Ma Durga and the other goddesses hold. One of my teachers offered me this :: The lotus in sanskrit is pankaja, which means born of mud, and the lotus does not appear to be a weapon yet is a symbol of the consciousness that we all have the ability to evolve, grow, blossom from the deepest darkest mud or life situations that are challenging. During Navratri, this beautiful sadhana I embrace twice a year is an opportunity to pause, reflect, and evolve into the highest aspect of me even through difficult times. In Ma Durga’s hand the lotus is not fully bloomed meaning  there is always the potential to blossom more.

Durga

My Love for Durga i n all Her forms is immense, She is my mythic Mother, she has revealed to me like a mirror everyday all that is Her is me. I bow before my altar giving love unconditionally, I am offering myself my love. And other times I lie down in front of my altar and cry and my altar feeds me, comforts me and I feel like I am being cradled as I weep, lost… both are receiving…

I bow in great reverence to the Mother of all creation…

“See all women as mothers, serve them as your mother. When you see the entire world as the mother, the ego falls away.”
