As life throws challenges my way and I feel the burning away of negative karma the Bhagavad Gita’s line, ‘I am the flames that consume it,’ fuel me to rise again like the flames. Yet I rise and dance, rather than react. from my last blog at the Full Moon where I shared the true meaning of scorpion, I still feel like the eagle. I am looking within to immerse myself in empathy and be the dove.

how about you?

do you feel flames rising, is life’s heat causing you to react?

I am the flames that consume it

One of the best known of all the Indian scriptures is the Bhagavad Gita which is “the song of the Lord”. It is set on a battlefield, just as modern day life is for some. Arjuna is the Prince who is being addressed by Sri Krishna inviting him to be the spiritual warrior who must do the right thing, no matter how the dice may fall!

In chapter 9 of Stephen Mitchell’s translation, Krishna is sharing the Secret of life. he says

“I am the ritual and the worship,
The medicine and the mantra,
The butter burnt in the fire,
And I am the flames that consume it!”
~ Bhagavad Gita
for me everything is an offering in life and sometimes it burns…
how does this rest within you?
