I speak my Truth

VishuddhaChakra

Vishuddha is the 5 th Chakra, it has 12 petals, its element is ether or space and it about sound and communication. Vishuddha means purification, this chakra purifies the 3 upper chakras for greater sensitivity. Sound is vibration in motion. Vishuddha is all about communication, words, truth, clarity. It encourages you to open your voice, speak your truth and freely express your creativity…

You’ve been exploring the chakras, the wheels of the vehicle of the body on the journey of your soul, you’ve used your will from the 3rd chakra manipura, utilised the breath of the 4th chakra to open your heart and energised it with ideas, thoughts, emotions from the mind, which express yourself to the world, it is through communication that you connect, unite and expand. my invitation to you is to communicate from the love and unity of the heart, the essence we created in last weeks anahata Sadhana.

Navratri is an Indian cultural sadhana honouring the Divine Feminine, Ma Durga, who is the Goddess of truth! I love that this week 31 March – 8 April that I teach you about Vishuddha is part of the nine nights of Navratri, what better way learn and embrace speaking your truth than invoking the triple aspect of Durga in our practices… read more about Durga, what she represents  on my Navratri blog prior to this one!

Vishuddha in practice

the practice on  the yoga mat nurtures you to come into the subtle energy vibrations of the body.  The yoga moves the body and increases the vital life force energy – Prana. the body is always a vibrating, pulsating being always speaking to you in creative ways. In class this week  as we create  the space to listen, I invite you  to explore the inner landscapes of you as a process of deep inner discovery. As the practice uplifts you, it creates harmony so you begin to creatively commune and listen to yourself, then you take this off the mat and listen to others and begin to align with the universe in so many ways.  As you creatively express yourself through the art of your body through your asanas, invite the mysteries of the Universe to come into alignment through you, as you align physicall in your body in the asanas, allow yourself to become the channel for the mystical information on emotional, mental and spiritual levels… you might delight in learning to communicate a language so much more universal than spoken just word. I invite you to let your asanas creatively express your inner being speaking to you. let you body speak your inner truth –

are you ready to open and become more receptive to listen?

self talk

I will be encouraging you in classes this week to create some space to communicate sweetly, openly and lovingly…. not only to others but very much from within, to yourself.

Communication

How do you communicate? Communication is an act of connection, it shapes your reality and your future

As we practice Vishuddha it is a time to be truthful, especially if you engage in negative self talk. This may seem harsh, but you know that saying” Truth hurts” – well another thing about Durga is she is fierce in her love as well as her truth – that’s why i resonate with her so! This is what Ma Durga is battling with in the Devi Mahatmya; the Devi Mahatmya is set on a battlefield between the gods – the devas, and devis and the asuras – the demons which have taken over the universe. It was Durga that the gods went to for help. The demons represent the negative thoughts, actions, emotions in our head, our life or around us and that is why Durga is a lover of truth as she slays anything that inhibits the force of auspiciousness and that is what the gods represent.

so back to negative self talk, (sorry i hadn’t forgotten….) inhibits you from progressing and inhibits the auspicious forces in nature. The only way to progress on the journey, allow the wheels to change is to be compassionately and tenderly honest with yourself, and begin to listen to what you really talk about in your head. is it true? is it beneficial? is it serving you that is the highest aspect of yourself?

We’re fascinated by words, but where meet is in silence behind them ~ Ram Das

Mantra

I am a lover of mantra, i chant everyday. Mantra means man = mind and tra= instrument/tool, so mantra is a tool to purify the mind, to bring the mind int harmony and one pointed focus. Mantras effect us at a subconscious level permeating out inner rhythms.

so I leave you with some reflections to ponder, maybe contemplate then and truly listen to your answers… I often ask questions in class after centring or when we are holding postures and I encourage everyone t o listen to the first one or two words that pop up, these are you subconscious before the rational mind kicks in… and also when you are holding postures this is when our monkey minds truly to play.. .the key is to breathe  or to chant a mantra like Om, Soham

how can you use your voice for healing?
what can you express to reveal your inner truth?

Are there places you are with-holding your truth?
What do you feel might happen if you were to speak your truth?

Perhaps you might contemplate these questions, maybe you are in a relationship or have a works situation that is stifling you, where you are unable to speak up or say what’s on your mind. or maybe you keep attracting the same sort of relationships yet your inner voice tells you you are not worthy of a good wo/man…

More on your mats this week!
